Good Charlotte Reissues Greetings From California With Three Unreleased Tracks

October 7, 2026

Good Charlotte announces the return of Greetings From California, an album originally released in 2014 under the name The Madden Brothers. Removed from platforms in 2015, the record will make its comeback on streaming services on November 6 in a deluxe edition enriched with three previously unreleased tracks, including “U R,” recorded with Ziggy Marley and available right away!

This reissue marks a new milestone in the story of an album long-demanded by fans. At the time, Joel and Benji Madden chose to release the project outside of Good Charlotte, before pulling it a few months later. More than twelve years after its creation, the two brothers have finally decided to give it a second life.

“There are more than twelve years ago, we made this album under the name The Madden Brothers. Shortly after its release, we decided to revisit it and keep it for ourselves. All these years later, we realized that it could have very well been a Good Charlotte album from the start. So we took the time to rework it and give it a fresh presentation for the reissue, and it’s truly important for us to be able to share it again. We have learned a lot over the years and learned to appreciate all these stories and experiences. The journey was the destination from the beginning,” explain Joel and Benji Madden.

With “U R,” the Madden brothers collaborate for the first time with Ziggy Marley, a major figure in reggae and a multiple Grammy Award winner. The track perfectly illustrates the eclectic approach of Greetings From California, an album that blends pop rock, seventies influences, and experimental touches with a freedom that diverges from Good Charlotte’s usual conventions.

The first portion of the record was produced by Eric Valentine, known for his work with Queens Of The Stone Age and Taking Back Sunday, while the second drew more from 1970s pop textures, with Joe Chiccarelli, a producer who has collaborated with Elton John, Weezer, or Morrissey.

This new edition will also be available as a limited double vinyl, featuring the three bonus tracks and a new cover. It will be released at certain independent record stores for Record Store Day, on November 27.

This reissue comes as Good Charlotte continues to promote their latest album, Motel Du Cap, released last year and the band’s first record in seven years. The group will soon embark on European dates with the Motel Du Cap EU/UK Tour, joined by Yellowcard. The tour will kick off on November 8 in Stockholm and will include Zénith Paris – La Villette on November 17, before wrapping up on November 30 in Manchester.

With Greetings From California, Good Charlotte shines a light on a distinctive chapter of their history, while giving it a new dimension through three newly added tracks. A way for the Madden brothers to revive a project they had long kept to themselves, but whose story was not entirely finished after all.
