U2 will reunite with European stadiums in 2027. The Irish group has just announced the first dates of its tour Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour, with two shows at the Stade de France on May 5 and 8. These reunions with the French public will accompany the release of Carnaval De Luz, a new album expected on November 13, 2026!
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. will launch this new European tour on April 26 in Stockholm. The itinerary also includes Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan, and several dates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Dates in Spain remain to be confirmed, while North American dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Wolf Alice will support U2 on the announced European dates.
This stadium return follows years spent on large-scale stage projects, notably the 40 sold-out performances at the Sphere in Las Vegas. U2 had not toured in stadiums since the end of the Joshua Tree Tour, on December 15, 2019 in Mumbai. For this new series of concerts, the band announces a show focused on communion with the audience, with a setlist expected to cover their entire discography.
“The Greatest Show On Earth“? That’s quite a promise. It’s a challenge we set for ourselves as much as for anyone else: to try to offer the most beautiful evening of our audience’s lives,” explain the four musicians. They describe a show blending guitars, bass, drums and unifying songs, in a production designed to recapture the grandeur of the band’s greatest tours.
This tour will accompany the release of Carnaval De Luz, a twelve-track album produced by Jacknife Lee and recorded in several locations around the world. Expected on November 13, the record will address spirituality, friendship, freedom and resilience in the face of threatening forces. It follows the two EPs released by surprise in 2026, Days Of Ash and Easter Lily, which marked the band’s latest creative steps.
U2 also unveiled “The Greatest Show On Earth”, the third single from the album, co-written with Brian Eno. Directed by Anton Corbijn in the California desert, the video depicts a satirical portrayal of the band as a religious sect, in which women are entrusted with most of the work.
Ticketing: the pre-sale for U2.com subscribers will begin on November 2 at 10 h. A Visa pre-sale is planned for November 4, followed by the artist pre-sale on November 5. The general sale of remaining tickets will take place on November 6 at 10 h on U2.com.
While other dates remain to be announced, U2 has already confirmed that this live adventure will end in Ireland. The Edge spoke of the band’s desire to finish this tour on its home soil, a homecoming that will take on a special dimension after fifty years of career celebrated in 2026.
As the forthcoming announcements are awaited, the two Stade de France shows remain the only confirmed French engagements for 2027. On May 5 and 8, U2 will again reach the Paris audience with a new show and an album that will mark a new milestone in the band’s history.
