Kings of Leon Announce Their New Album ‘O My Beloved’ and New Single ‘My Whole World’

Kings Of Leon opens a new chapter marked by nostalgia, family, and gratitude. The Tennessee-based quartet announces O My Beloved, their tenth studio album, slated for November 6 via Love Tap Records, and at the same time reveals “My Whole World,” a particularly intimate first excerpt!

Two years after Can We Please Have Fun, Kings Of Leon is preparing to cross the symbolic threshold of ten albums. With O My Beloved, Caleb Followill and his brothers Jared and Nathan, accompanied by their cousin Matthew Followill, seem intent on returning to the heart of the band. For the first time, the quartet has fully self-produced the album, aiming for a rawer, stripped-down, more spontaneous approach, closer to the spirit of their Nashville beginnings.

Comprising 13 tracks, the record is poised to be the most personal and unconstrained entry in the group’s catalog. Kings Of Leon turns a reflective eye toward the people, memories, and experiences that have shaped their path, while also measuring how far they have come since their early years. Family naturally takes a central place in this contemplation, as do their lives as men and fathers, and the everyday moments to which they now attach renewed significance.

“We’ve already surpassed anything we could have imagined achieving, and we’ve built something truly special. I thought: wouldn’t it be wonderful to make an album that looks back on everything we’ve done and appreciates the road that brought us here?,” explains Caleb Followill. The singer adds: “There are our families in these songs, stories from our childhood, things that perhaps didn’t seem so important at the time, but the way they appear in these tracks makes me realize how deeply they have impacted my life.”

“My Whole World,” the first preview of O My Beloved, perfectly embodies this new direction. Driven by acoustic guitar, a light rhythm, and country-tinged instrumentation, the track emphasizes warmth and simplicity over the expansive arrangements that have characterized some of the band’s recent productions. A soft melancholy threads through the song at first, then gives way to a genuine love letter to those who matter most to Caleb Followill: “I’m grateful today for my whole world / That sweet peace of mind,” he sings in a chorus of serene assurance.

This stripped-back, warm atmosphere gives “My Whole World” the feel of a contemplative interlude, as if Kings Of Leon are finally taking time to look back and measure the scope of their story. After more than two decades of career, millions of albums sold, and a string of major hits, the band chooses to celebrate less the grandeur of their journey than the bonds and memories that made it possible.

With O My Beloved, Kings Of Leon thus seems to transform their legacy into intimate material, returning to Nashville, to their families, and to the small moments that helped shape their identity.
