Nickelback Announces New Album Everything Under the Sun, New Single Rattle the Cage Featuring John 5

July 28, 2026

After four years without new material, Nickelback makes a major return. The Canadians have just announced the release of their eleventh studio album, Everything Under The Sun, expected on October 30, 2026 via Virgin Music Group. To accompany the announcement, the band revealed a second explosive track, “Rattle The Cage,” featuring guitarist John 5!

Following Get Rollin’ (2022), Everything Under The Sun marks a new phase for Nickelback, who join Virgin Music Group after departing BMG. The album aims to fuse every aspect that has shaped the band’s identity for more than three decades, from stadium-ready anthems and colossal riffs to memorable melodies and more introspective moments.

The vocalist Chad Kroeger sums up the ambition of this new record: “This album brings together all the facets of the band. It contains tracks as impactful as anything we’ve done so far, others that take risks, as well as songs that remind us why we’ve been playing together for so long.

The second single, “Rattle The Cage,” immediately sets the tone. Fueled by sharp riffs, boundless energy, and a chorus built for crowd-surfing in the biggest venues, the track also features John 5, the guitarist from Mötley Crüe, whose contributions heighten the intensity of this hard rock surge. Chad Kroeger explains the choice: “‘Rattle The Cage’ seemed the best way to kick things off. The song carries all the energy we feed on every night on stage, and we can’t wait for fans to hear it.

According to the official press release, Everything Under The Sun will offer “the full spectrum” of what has made Nickelback one of the world’s most prominent rock bands. The record promises a balance of hard-hitting compositions, crowd-pleasing refrains, imposing guitars, and more nuanced passages, while highlighting the chemistry that has bonded the quartet for more than thirty years.

This announcement arrives at a particularly favorable moment for the group. Riding the success of the documentary Hate To Love: Nickelback and the worldwide Get Rollin’ tour, described as the fastest to sell out and the most attended in their career, Nickelback continues to demonstrate a level of popularity that shows no signs of waning. With nearly 60 million albums sold worldwide and billions of streams, the Canadian band remains one of the most popular rock acts of its generation.

Jacqueline Saturn, president of Virgin Music Group North America, also welcomed the collaboration: “Nickelback has built one of the most remarkable careers in the music industry. It is a great honor for to support a band with such a strong heritage and global impact. We are thrilled to begin this new chapter alongside them and can’t wait for fans to discover Everything Under The Sun.

With Everything Under The Sun, Nickelback aims to celebrate more than three decades of activity while looking firmly toward what lies ahead. If “Rattle The Cage” is representative of the rest of the album, the group appears ready to reconnect with a muscular, unifying hard rock, all while preserving the melodies that have underpinned its enormous success.
