After the audio surfaced last week, Marilyn Manson lifts the veil on the official video for “Front Toward Enemy,” the second single from One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2!
Directed by Henri Alexander Levy, these visuals extend the dark and cinematic universe of the American musician a few weeks ahead of the album’s release.
After revealing “Exit Wound” in June, Marilyn Manson now presents “Front Toward Enemy,” a track co-written and co-produced with his longtime collaborator Tyler Bates. The track, which previously appeared as the B-side of the physical single for “Raise The Red Flag,” now benefits from an official release accompanied by a particularly enigmatic clip.
In this new video directed by Henri Alexander Levy, Brian Warner appears surrounded by two miniature versions of himself playing guitar and drums. The footage alternates between scenes where the singer moves through a pristine set wearing a long cloak, performs pull-ups on a metal cross, or lies on a stretcher while his childlike doppelgänger seems about to operate on him. A sequence of symbolic tableaux that reinforces the unsettling, theatrical aesthetic characteristic of this new era.
Scheduled for August 14 via Nuclear Blast Records, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 directly continues from One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, released in November 2024, while promising to deepen the conceptual and sonic universe introduced in the first chapter, balancing oppressive atmospheres, industrial textures, and haunting melodies.
With “Front Toward Enemy,” Marilyn Manson thus continues to reveal the different facets of an album that marks the continuation of his creative return begun in 2024, confirming an artistic direction that remains as dark, provocative, and cinematic as ever.
