DragonForce is back with a self-titled new album slated for release on March 19, 2027, and a new voice at the helm: Alissa White-Gluz. The group reveals today “Hunger Of The Beast,” the first preview of this new era, available now on YouTube.
Nearly three decades after their beginnings, DragonForce opens a new chapter in its history. The group announces its tenth studio album, DragonForce, due March 19, 2027 on Napalm Records. For this new chapter, Herman Li, Sam Totman, and Alicia Vigil are joined by frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz, the first female vocalist in the band’s history, as well as Alessio Garavello on vocals and Billy Wilkins, a new member of the lineup.
This new configuration is unveiled for the first time with “Hunger Of The Beast”. Guitars revved to full speed, pounding drums, catchy melodies and virtuosic work by Herman Li and Sam Totman: the track preserves the core of DragonForce’s ultra-fast power metal while introducing a new vocal dynamic. Crafted specifically around the complementary ranges of Alissa White-Gluz and Alessio Garavello, the track offers a first glimpse of what this new lineup has in store.
The track is available today exclusively on YouTube, accompanied by its official video, before its release on all streaming platforms on September 24.
With DragonForce, the group also intends to reconnect with the raw energy of its early records. “Neverending Nightmare” will extend this high-speed assault with its melodies and virtuosic guitars, while “The White Wolf” will explore another facet of the album by blending melodic power metal, explosive instrumentation and imposing guitar work. Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, the album aims to marry the technical precision that has defined DragonForce since its inception with the energy powered by its new lineup.
“Every time we start a new album, we tell ourselves, “Wow, I can’t believe we still get to do what we love after all these years”,” explains Herman Li. “We always try to take everything we’ve learned over the years and put it into our new music. This album doesn’t resemble any other DragonForce album, nor any other metal album. There’s simply nothing comparable.”
Alissa White-Gluz, who joined DragonForce last spring, is also enthusiastic: “I loved the whole creation process with DragonForce. It’s fantastic to work with such exceptional musicians and bring out the best of our respective styles. I find that this new blend of speed and ferocity is refreshing and exciting. It’s going to be really fun to perform live.”
Illustrated by a cover art signed by Mark Riddick, DragonForce thus aims to celebrate the band’s historic DNA while fully embracing its new identity. Between speed, melodic power and instrumental virtuosity, this tenth album will particularly mark the recording debut of Alissa White-Gluz with DragonForce.
