Trivium begins a new chapter with “Dead Inside Of Me”, the first single from its upcoming eleventh studio album. With Alex Rüdinger behind the drums, the quartet consisting of Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu, Paolo Gregoletto and Rüdinger unveils a track that blends metal power, groove and technical mastery!
Built around modern thrash riffs, heavy guitar grooves, and particularly dense rhythms, “Dead Inside Of Me” alternates between sung passages and screams before also giving space to the band’s traditional solos. The track is paired with a video directed by Pavel Trebukhin, a chilling dive into the darkest corners of the human psyche.
Paolo Gregoletto explains that the title was born at the end of a long day of writing last summer, from a riff he had kept for five or six years and had named “Slam”: “Some of the most fun ideas for songs come from mixing two opposing ideas. Take a death metal riff and play it like a stadium rock song. Let the screams and the singing intertwine until they feel like they form a single voice,” the bassist explains.
The track also draws inspiration from the Japanese concepts of honne and tatemae, which describe the tension between a person’s true inner feelings and the mask they present to the outer world. “Dead Inside Of Me” thus serves as the first preview of the successor to In The Court Of The Dragon, released in 2021, with further details to be announced later.
This new era will be accompanied by several live dates, including a stop on April 7, 2027 at the Zénith in Paris, for a co-headlining show with In Flames. Supporting acts will be Paleface Swiss and Vola.
While waiting for more details about the eleventh album, “Dead Inside Of Me” is now available on streaming platforms and marks Trivium’s return with a first track that is particularly massive.
